Junk Activism

Ah, what a wonderful weekend to be alive.  Thousands of Indonesians gathered in Bali to to fight for their right to PORNO!  God bless them.

The plan has been condemned by minority groups in the country, including Balinese, who are Hindu, as well as Christians, and some tribal groups who favor near nudity as traditional attire.

Wait…. Christians favoring pornography?  We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore. And another point, I believe that the guy in the front row of the protest crowd is more than happy to appreciate his rights while he still has them!

Indonesia, I wish you the best of luck, and if all else fails…remember, Google Chrome now has porn mode.

American Airlines employees continue their protest of bad working conditions that have gotten progressively worse over the course of 2008.  I can’t say I blame them.  We have a good idea of how dirty those blankets must be.

Today in Belgium, 20 women displayed their estimated 40 boobies, covered themselves in fake blood and carried their PETA signs to make it known to the world that the trickling down of EU funds goes to support Spain’s desire to watch men stick pica spears into the back of pissed off bulls.

The article claims over $27.4 million of EU taxpayer was spent last year to farmers and even organizers for renovating arenas and hold bullfighting events, still a popular local and tourist attraction in Spain.

I must say, some of these PETA women are HOT.  The women also stuck pica spears in their backs, which I shamefully must presume is to take the attention off their chest and make it known that their protest is actually about killing bulls… I mean, spending EU taxpayer money… I mean, animal rights…er, I mean banning a 900-year cultural tradition… ah, what the hell.  There are boobs!

The Junk Activism blog design is finally finished.  I think I’ll add a few charity banners here and there for any out there who may feel noble enough to donate to a good cause… but it’s time to stop procrastinating and get some laughable activism up in here!

The past two weeks, all I smell is Economic Meltdown, U.S. Election 2008, and government protest in Thailand (a country I have visited and love).  And it smells like boiling blood. ‘Tis the Season of Activism and I know without a doubt that as I write this someone is marking up some cardboard with something clever.

This is a call for your photos of hilarious and clever protest signs and banners.  We want the ones that are worthy of bumper stickers, or hilarious artwork of famous people.
